Bing Mapping applications.

WELCOME to OAKLEY INTEGRATED BUSINESS SOLUTIONS - A Microsoft Gold Partner who specialise in the development of Bing mapping applications.

An example of data integration with mapping technology is shown below where Oakley has taken traffic & travel data from Trafficlink and combined this with Bing maps to provide an interactive travel experience. Using the functionality within Bing maps Oakley can re-route a journey or warn customers via text message of any issues on the given route. Oakley has provided this solution to RAC for their new travel information solution.

Use the map below and scroll around the country to view travel information based on conditions in July 2009. Live sites are updated every 5 minutes and can provide any travel related data including, planned events (roadworks) as well as road speed data. Currently the data shown below is unplanned (accidents & incidents) causing traffic delays.

The region selector is a quick way to navigate to specific area's of the country and traffic data is shown for England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland & Central London, unlike many traffic solutions available.

What else can be done with Bing Mapping applications?

Visualise infrastructure from a service perspective, including provisioning, population density, combining data to visualise requirements from a servicing and implementation. Using Bing maps from Microsoft, acquisition and calculation of geometry data for specific incident types can be achieved for:

  • Leaks
  • Customer issues
  • Cabling
  • Pipework
  • Wireless coverage
  • Rescue services
  • Caving
  • Sub terra infrastructure
  • Water
  • Sewage
  • Capacity Planning

The Virtual Earth platform - now Bing Maps for Enterprise - is a critical component of the Microsoft geospatial story, enabling organisations to serve up data in a manner that allows users to better visualise, understand and ultimately to act on in a simple visual environment.

Bing Maps integrates with other Microsoft technologies to provide the visualisation for collaborative, geospatial data applications. Specifically Microsoft Dynamics CRM for visualisation of client density by area or product & service provision.
